Western Canadian Select (WCS) is a heavy blended crude oil consisting of heavy conventional crude oils, bitumen, and synthetic crude from the Canadian oil sands. It is the benchmark for Canadian heavy crude and typically trades at a discount to WTI due to its heavier API gravity and higher sulfur content.
